About Us
Empowering Women Through Education Since 1963

The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada, established in 1963, is a registered Canadian charity created by Soroptimist clubs across the country to ensure donors receive a tax benefit for their contributions. Our mission is to fund and support educational programs that empower girls and women.

We invest in a range of impactful initiatives, including:

-
Club Grants that help fund local projects like Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls and other educational programs for teens.

-
Participation in the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women, part of Soroptimist International of the Americas. To ensure no woman is left behind, we provide awards to women in communities without a Soroptimist Club presence. These awards help bridge the gap and extend our impact nationwide. 37 recipients across Canada, with a Total disbursement of $37,000.

-
Grants for Women: We provide awards to women pursuing postgraduate studies that directly benefit women and girls. 4 recipients in the Western Canada Region and 4 recipients in the Eastern Canada Region. With a total of $68,000 disbursed annually.

-
We support Willing Hearts International Society’s Lugari Leadership Camp, an initiative that empowers approximately 200 girls annually through leadership and life skills development, with a total disbursement of $17,000.

Our Grants for Women Initiative for women in Graduate Studies has awarded more than $100,000 in funding since 2020, helping women pursue advanced degrees and create lasting change in their communities.

Together, we are building brighter futures—one educated woman at a time.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada is dedicated to empowering women and girls through education.
We provide financial support to women pursuing post-secondary and graduate-level studies, helping them overcome barriers, achieve their goals, and become leaders in their communities.

By investing in education, we are investing in a more equitable and hopeful future for women, for families, and for Canada.

Our Vision
We envision a future where women and girls across Canada have equitable access to education, empowering them to create positive change in their lives, their communities, and the world.
